I was there, even for the sound check the day before the show, I saw Phil throwing bags of weed out to the crowd gathered by the front of the stage. The music was incredible, with The Band excelling, the Dead transcending, and the Allman Brothers on fire! I never had a more intense concert experience.. I was 18 that summer and was heading to college, Temple University for my freshman year two weeks later.. this show was legendary

In the dead of night during the wee hours of the morning a guy was dancing while breathing fire. Most were asleep and missed it, except those that came party, party, party….

We hiked up the mountain road late at night. Found a spot and had dinner. Eventually crashed. Woke up to a hum. Sunny hot humid and in the middle of a sea of humanity some 100 yards in front of the stage.

Just an incredible weekend. I’d love a listing of all that was played during the “Practice” sessions.
