I was there. I worked backstage security. I worked the 3 previous nights in a row in Red Bank doing Springsteen, did the Roosevelt Stadium show, then back to Red Back for 3 more Bruce shows. Rough summer.

This was Sheri and my very first Dead show. We were only friends then and not even a couple, just very close friends. The call came in on the morning of the show. I awoke to an offering from Sheri over the old house phone since cellular was yet to be revealed,”hey you want to go see the Dead “?, Today! Sure! Boom rest is history, the first of about 400 DEAD shows
