Well, this was my first almost Dead show. I saw the ’79 & ’80 shows at Rec Hall that followed. I gotta say, if I had to choose between a Dead show or a Jerry show, I pick Jerry. I was blown away by the setlist which was really pretty standard for his solo outings. I had know idea. He opened with a Motown song and I loved it. Then a James Taylor song…then a reggae tune. I loved his solo lp up to this show. Very excited about the entire set. Lots of energy. Keith and Donna were great. John Kahn was an absolute monster on the bass. Rec Hall even then was a dumpy, old gym, with questionable sonics. Sound crew eventually dialed it in and they sound was really good
I went to Shippensburg St College and we had far better shows than PSU while I was there, but we never had Jerry or the Dead

I’m no judge for rating this show, my first Jerry concert. The Rec Hall reverb was nasty, the crowd super noisy, and I didn’t know but a few songs. But I loved it.
Great thanks for the company of Ken, Bob, Jim, Shelley, Pat, and Tony.
