I’m pretty sure they started with Lovelight. When they finished someone yelled for “Agillator” & Jerry said “We’ll do Agillator later” (though they didn’t). Later on, I think during the cannon-shot part of St. Stephen, someone took it upon themselves to explode a firecracker. After the song, Weir was pissed off & scolded whoever did it, saying in a small room like that they could be deafened by such shenanigans. Anyway, great show, at the beginning management announced doors were locked & people could crash overnight (show started at midnight) if they wanted. At that announcement dozens of pipes appeared. The opening act was Eric Mercury, billed as “The Electric Black Man.” I remember High Time being really fine, with TC’s organ very audible in the tiny space – it was also easy to see what he was playing on the keyboard during the improvs, which was so often inaudible at other shows. On that little stage each guy was just a couple feet from each other – a cool moment for me was during a fast jam Phil hitting a big clam; he & Jerry just grinned at each other & consciously turned the wrong note into a riff they instantly built on, like jazz players. Oh, & the drummers did their quasi-Monkey Chant/raga drumbeat syllable-duel. And they all looked high as kites.
