The last Autzen show. The day before was the ONLY Autzen Stadium show I missed. Beautiful sunny day. 45,000 happy people. I had just opened the letter from wife (we lived in Forest Grove west of Portland, and I drove down to Eugene finding a letter in the door pouch of my car) saying “I want a divorce and I want you to move out NOW.” On the way in a good friend, trying to be helpful, said take one of these little pieces of paper, and you’ll feel better. BAD IDEA. It was a great show, but I was just not in the mood. Setting was great, mind set was bummed. Not a BAD trip, just glum all day among 45,000 happy people.
