What a great show. It was Jerry’s 50th Birthday. I saw Bill Walton and his wife there.

Lay Down Sally was sick! How Sweet! Shining Star… good feeling show.. Bros and Sis…I remember after Irvine Meadows, Universal Studios, and Ventura, I came back to SD where I was living and picked up my lil’ Cuz (he was still in high school and I practicallyhad to beg him to come… his first and only JGB/Dead show! he was blown away and all his friends were there. Before he had a chance to realize what he had seen and see another one… sadly Jer Bear was gone

I was really new to JGB at the time and didn’t really recognize anything until Lay Down Sally kicked in (must’ve missed the set opener, too(?)). Just remember Jerry really laboring through it and sweating profusely and found out he needed a break (from the rest of the tour) after this show!
