Was taping. my mic stand was ruined by dancing fan who stumbled into my gear. I poked a hole in my ball cap and put my small mic under my hat with a handheld recorder in my back pocket. Had to get close, so I didn’t see the markings on the aisles saying keep clear for emergency techs. anyway, staff taps me on my shoulder sees my mic chord down my neck and tells me to come to the police booth right side of theater. deputy sheriff told me to show tape ticket. was back at my gear on the lawn. Wouldn’t let me get it, took the 2tapes I had finished with the newest Bob and Rob set of 2 songs. let me leave with a warning and forfeited mic, tape recorder, and tapes. first time I’ve ever been hassled taping. too uptight about it. but I did get the rest of show and didn’t hear the show again until 91. just chuckle when I think about JGB and Grateful Dead shows. Every show I was at blew my doors in! . Miss em’

I didn’t know there was an opening band, then Bobby strolled out with Rob Wasserman.

My 1st JGB show & what a show it was! I was just five years in, in 89, & thought the grateful dead experience couldn’t be matched. After seeing this show, a whole new revelation opened up for me. Pad this show with Clarence Clemons & (also) my 1st Weir/Wasserman show; this was a religious experience! Although the crowd was familiar, there was just a “different” feel for JGB shows…. Hard to explain! Unfortunately, haven’t come across any quality recordings of this tour (w/Clemons)?

My first time seeing Jerry was not a Dead show – it was this one. Drove from Springfield, MO with a few guys. We showed up in the wee hours and the very kind people at the facility not only allowed us to camp in the parking lot, but opened the gates so we could wash up and use the restroom. I can’t say I remember the show all that well, but I remember the experience – I was hooked.
