I went to both shows , and had a great time. as a previous reviewer said the Weather and Music made up for some Hassles they were getting and I saw people outside of the Venue and Lot being detained by police on the Roads and at Patapsco State park where we camped park rangers were searching the campsite next to ours and they had a lot of stuff so it took a long time and we were tripping and some guy was chased by Rangers and was then out there and you could hear him screaming begging for help as he sounded lost . I thought I heard a young man CRY today. II didn’t see one cop in the grass field lot or inside the venue , and that means I didn’t see anybody getting hassled by them, and at one point we a sitting in a big Circle with a big Nitrous tank (don’t care for) laying there with tong hose that we were passing around and they weren’t selling it lI it but No one seemed to be concerned of the authorities as Joints were going around. At RFK stadium about 2 months before this I saw police hassling people and arresting people with Nitrous tanks. I’m sure there were some Cops there I just didn’t notice , they must’ve been keeping a low profile . I really didn’t see anything Negative like I was seeing in other cities at Grateful Dead at the time. I thought These two show’s were really great with Jerry’s lead’s were exquisite and there weren’t many mistakes if any unlike the Dead at that time, and at times leads like on ” Forever Young” sound Heavenly. The Sound quality of the Audience tapes is really good ,at least the ones I heard and the Pure Jerry 4 CD set with both shows sounds amazing and during this time Jerry’s vocals were really good , maybe the best since the early 1980’s when his voice sounded affected by all the smoking of the Persian and cigarettes . I didn’t like how his vocals sounded in 1985 , but his guitar was on fire then . By 1992 he was sounding bad again except as time went on his playing wasn’t making up for it like it did. This remains one of the best shows of any Dead or related shows I ever went. The Vibes were good , Bobby Weir opened and I remember a good Acoustic” Looks Like Rain , Masterpiece , Throwing Stones”. It was great hearing “Cats Under the Stars” under the stars with clear not so hazy September sky. I never had any problem with Authorities at any show , If I’m not doing anything I don’t have to concerned or let it spoil the show for me somehow , Yeah innocent people get tied up in stuff they have no part of , but everybody at these shows should Know all the rules by now, and more often than not they took a risk and got caught , I was smoking a lot of pot , and smoked a couple fatties on the lawn , during the show and that was risky , At Meadowlands they would have a spotter who walkie talkies to another what row and seat you are in when he saw people smoking , we still smoked but very cautiously . Nowadays I imagine with no smoking at all in arenas ,it would be lot more risky . Use your sense !

I grew up in Columbia, MD, and this was my first exposure to the Dead. Hippies suddenly invaded, and I asked my mom why hippies were bathing in the fountain. She said, “The Grateful Dead are in town”.

I remember the cops setting up dwi check points and giving us a real hassle in the lot but the music and the weather more than made up fur that. We weren’t going to let them ruin it. Allot of people walking around looking for help with bail money. Great shows. Miss ya Jerry.
