A few memories of this one, seen on spring break at age 17: I think the entire mood of the show was set in place when Lesh sang the opener, and a Beatles cover at that – the joint went crazy. Garcia’s voice was totally shot and the audience forgave him and had fun anyway. I don’t know if it just gave out from the tour or if he was sick but his appearance and mood were positive. I remember him reaching his right arm high into the air preparing to belt out a high note in the out-chorus to MS Half-Step; he hit it and the audience again went wild, appreciating his effort. There is a one-camera video of this concert on YouTube, synced to a soundboard tape, for anyone who wants to relive it.

If my memory is correct Phil started the show with … HEY KIDS CAN YOU HEAR ME!!!!???? & from that point the show was red hot… a lot of energy in that building. Dam shame they tore it down….It had a special sound.
