Shady Grove was a hole in the wall bar/club on Haight St. I saw some good shows there-Clifton Chenier was great and Leila & The Snakes were also great. I lived at 557 Ashbury on the corner of Haight and the Shady Grove was right around the corner-we had a back stairs down to Haight and the club was a few doors down. It was unbelieveable to see Jerry in such a small space. Nice version of Come Together-wish they had played that one more often. Also saw Robert Hunter play with Comfort at the first Haight St. Fair around that time-the stage was set up right outside our window and we didn’t even have to leave to see the show. Those were the days.
