I was an usher on the first prom. As such I was backstage for part of the show. I have a bunch of photos I took that day. Amazing memories.

This was my 1st Dead concert. To be honest, I really wasn’t that impressed. Previous concerts I’d attended included Jimi Hendrix, Jethro Tull, Yes…just to name a few. This was an era in rock music like no other. The Grateful Dead seemed unprepared, meek, and rather unspectacular by comparison. However, the Seastones part of the show really got my attention. After that, I realized maybe there was more to this band than I thought. Further investigation seemed appropriate. Commander Cody’s Hot Rod Lincoln was my favorite song that night. Little did I know what a long, strange trip this Grateful Dead band was going to create in my life. Thank you Jerry…

My second show! I remember loving the songs from Mars Hotel….Wish I could remember “Seastones”! Ah well, such are the early ’70’s….
