I and a bunch of friends were there on one of those nights, arrived in a RED VeeDub Bus my parents let us borrow with a banner reading EL Monte or Bust on it’s side……..long strange trip it was from North Whittier LOL One of the best Dead concerts we went to. Watched and cheered the band on as they stumbled across valley blvd from the market dodging traffic with gallon jugs of wine before the show, for pig-pen, who was stellar, no doubt. At 1am the band went acoustic for a song or two as the legion turned off the power..it would have gone on forever if not for that.
