This show was my first and I was very lucky. The cops were really bothering the show, arresting people in the back, threatening to shut off power if people did not keep “fire lanes” in the open no seat ballroom. In between songs the cops kind of came back, then the Dead would start playing and the mood would go from paranoia and fear to complete ecstasy, in two seconds, driving the red velvet coated cops scurrying. They gave up after a while and let us have the show. We won one that night. Don’t remember the specific songs but the first set was mainly off their new American Beauty and the second set sounded more like 2 hours of Morning Dew. At the time I did not know their songs and was not in much of a state to remember anyway. Wonderful Show.
