We didn’t know it at the time, but Grateful Dead played their normal first set as the “early” show. Place emptied and others came in for “late” show, which was the band’s normal 2nd set. I was at both because tix were only $2.50 a show. . .

I’ll never forget it … bought our tickets 2 hrs prior to show. Sound check songs were “Can’t Help Myself”(Four Tops) and “The eleven”.
