Show Facts
Eric Burdon and the Animals, who had a night off from their own tour, went to the Avalon that evening to catch the show. They ended up playing a short set on the Dead's equipment, one of only two times that the Dead gave up the stage to another band to perform on their gear (the other time being The Beach Boys on April 27, 1971).
