Hold on Tight – Don’t Let Go Drops for Record Store Day!

Here’s some news that should leave you grinnin’ from ear to ear… On April 12th, the Jerry Garcia Family and Round Records will reissue Don’t Let Go for the very first time on vinyl to celebrate Record Store Day. Originally released as a 2xCD set in 2001, Don’t Let Go features the Jerry Garcia Band’s complete performance from May 21st, 1976 at San Francisco’s Orpheum Theatre.

Garcia and fellow Grateful Dead bandmates Donna Jean and Keith Godchaux are joined by bassist John Kahn and drummer Ron Tutt, who together created an electric and powerful rhythmic evening. Recorded just weeks after the release of Reflections, Garcia’s third solo studio album, the performance is dotted with four selections from the album, including the Garcia/Hunter penned “Mission in the Rain” and “They Love Each Other.” And as you’d expect from a collection titled Don’t Let Go, the titular song is a true showstopper by any definition.

Don’t Let Go is pressed in a limited edition of 4,000 and housed in a 4xLP rigid book. Visit RecordStoreDay.com for more information and to locate an independent, locally owned store near you.
