I was at this show with several friends. Yes there were lots of Hells Angels and free Nitrous Oxide. I vaguely recall that the show was somehow connected or sponsored by High Times Magazine. Before the boat even left the dock there was a fight concerning a biker that was wearing colors that he shouldn’t have on. I I think that they just ripped them off his jacket. On the boat I was nonstop focused on using an assortment of drugs. For whatever reason that night was more about just hanging out and the music was mostly background atmosphere.
Its more than 40 years ago.

I was there night with a friend. As per others it was a crazy night. When I mention this show, no one believes it happened. Awesome to have proof that it was not a figment of my imagination.

I never knew anybody else who went to this amazing night, except my friends. You told the story pretty much as it went. Ya, the Angels owned that ferry that night. Luckly i didn’t get bothered or hit. What a strange vibe the whole night. the music was low key, but it rock in a different way. As strange as it was that night i’m so glad i was on the ship. What a memory!!!!!!

There were like 6 decks on this ship with the stage being visible from only one deck, but you could obviously hear the music throughout the ship. On the top deck, which was open to the sky, were tanks of Nitrous Oxide with free balloons being passed out to anyone who wanted to partake! As you got to the dock to board ship there were about 300 of the Angels’ bikes parked in front, pretty impressive! Angels were there from all over the country. This show was a fundraiser for Sonny Barger’s, president of the Hells Angels, legal fees who was incarcerated at the time.

One of the most frightening & amazing nights of my life! Partying with a few hundred Hells Angels for 7 hours on a ship with no laws, while tripping the lights fantastic, is not what I call “fun!” But, it did have its moments. Angels were punching people in the face, indiscriminately, as they walked down the aisles. They were f*cked-up & nobody was going to stop them from doing what they wanted. A friend of mine got the shit kicked out of him cause he wouldn’t give an Angel his hat. As you got on the ship, the Angel collecting tickets had a metal claw where he once had a hand! At one point during the show, a girl with only her panties on, with a scared shit expression on her face, ran across stage followed by 2 Angels chasing her. I can only imagine how much “fun” she had that night. Anyone else remember that? Ya had to have been there to really grasp the experience. The band played very low key that night which, I believe, was to not incite the Angels. It was already a crazy enough situation! Peace!
