PRINT TYPES

Giclee Prints are created using high quality digital imagery. The original artwork is captured through a virtual drum scan and the resulting reproduction is printed with a high-end pigment printer. All Estate Editions are printed on imported German 310 gram fine art archival paper sized at 13" x 19". This is the most economical way to produce an archival quality print with high-resolution digital printing.

Iris Prints reflect the highest quality resolution in digital imagery. For each work of art, many separate layers are assigned to specific colors to create depth and accuracy similar to creating hand-drawn color separations. The density, paper penetration, and tonal range are unsurpassed by any other digital printer. Digital printing depends on great input to achieve great results. The best optic camera is used to produce superior files with no film grain.
Silkscreen Prints are pulled by hand. Each color in the print has been made by an individual screen. This form of printing has graphic appeal and strength unmatched for color boldness. The silkscreen process creates flat areas of color, blocking the porosity of the paper, and provides depth and tone with undercoats, overcoats and spot colors. This is a very old art process started before digital printing was in existence.

Offset Lithography is a four and sometimes up to six-color process run on a press using plates made from a digital file. A plate makes an inked impression on a rubber-blanketed cylinder, which in turn transfers it to the paper. Color is tightly controlled by a highly skilled technician. Paper quality and excellence in the printer make all the difference in quality for this process.
